SHOOTINGThe Cadet Unit regularly conducts range shoots for cadets to gain firearms safety experience, shooting skills & confidence, have the chance to work towards attaining shooting badges or participate in competition shoots. Click here for shooting badge criteria.
All cadets must pass rifle drill testing known as TOETs (to assess safety and confidence) prior to being allowed to shoot. Click here for TOETs assessment sheet.
Training is given at the cadet unit and at the range, and coaches are on hand during shoots. Click here to look up shooting dates.Cadets must always have a signed permission slip for each shoot, and costs and locations may vary. Click here to download a permission slip or the shooting notice.

CAMPSCamps are held regularly throughout the year and locations vary throughout Northland. Click here to look up the camp dates.

ANZAC DAY PARADESEvery year the cadets participate in the local ANZAC Day Parades at Kerikeri RSA. They also assist with the Poppy Day Collection as part of the community service component of the cadet unit.
The parade allows cadets to pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country and participate in a ceremonial parade. Cadets get the opportunity to take different roles within the ceremonial occasion (some of which can achieve them NZQA credits). Click here for ANZAC Day notices. |
FUN RUNSCadets have the option of participating in various fun runs or similar activities. Click here to check for dates of events.

FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIESFund-raising activities are an important part of unit activities. This helps keep costs down for the other activities, teaches community service to the cadets and raises the profile of the unit within the community.
